About Me

About Steve Mermelstein:
Steve was hooked on photography when he was a young child. His mother says that he had a camera in his hand back when he was in a stroller. By the time he was in the 5th grade he was loading and developing his own film and printing in a wet darkroom he setup in his bathroom.

In middle and high school Steve was the primary photographer for his school’s yearbook and newspaper and landed his first paying photography job during his freshman year of high school. By the graduation, Steve had setup a color lab and was working professionally as a commercial and event photographer. While doing this he put himself through college and graduate school. However, photography went on the back burner after college as he went into other things.

In 1995, Steve moved to Vermont as he enjoyed vacationing in the state every summer since he was born. He quickly found it hard to resist the call to photograph the natural beauty everywhere he looked and started to pickup his camera again.

After upgrading to digital equipment in 2002, Steve was living and breathing photography. Since, he spent ALL of his free time photographing people, landscapes and wildlife across New England but mainly in Vermont.

Steve has been giving photo tours of Vermont to friends and family since 2003, many of which shared their photographs with their friends. Soon requests for tours from friends of friends started coming in and Steve realized he accidentally came across something that could be a fun side business.

In 2006, Steve decided to go back into photography full time and hasn’t once regretted the decision.

About his work ethic
Steve is not the flighty, cheap “guy with a camera” that pulls the, “I’m an artist…that doesn’t fit my artistic vision” bull or never delivers on time.

Everyone that works with him says he’s a “Professional Photographer” with an emphasis on Professional. Steve and his crew show up on time, make the photographs the client wants and needs, and delivers beautiful finished prints and files when promised. No delays or excuses.

When you work with him you can be assured your photographic needs will be fulfilled and all your expectations will be met, if not exceeded.
